I mean, who cares in the grand scheme of things as long as it gets fixed, but this attitude is pervasive – I feel like it is a battle every time I contact customer service. Instead of apologizing and making sure their customer is happy, they attack and attempt to minimize the issue. When reporting problems, there are at least three ways to do it. You can call your customer service representative, which is what he told us to do. Or you can attempt to use the CalAtlantic website to report your issue. Or you could call the general customer service department.

Again, I can’t be certain what the issue is, but as a new home owner, this entire ordeal is something I did not expect to encounter. Clearly, regardless of what the issue ends up being, it reveals poor build quality, poor quality control and atrocious customer service at CalAtlantic. And I wasn’t the only one in my community impacted; most homes in the community had leaks. I’m not certain that is what the real issue was and am pretty surprised by the comment.
Culture is not inclusive
Kind of difficult to improve your compensation at regular intervals. They reassured us the whole time that the house is under warranty and they want to make this a fantastic experience for us. CalAtlantic has said they would address this issue for us several times; however, we’re quickly approaching a year and nothing has been done so that appears to be an empty promise. Yes, we can get hot water in a bit under 4 minutes if we turn on the hot water tap of the bathtub but it is still minutes before hot water arrives and all that water is still going straight down the drain. I wonder how the Board and CalAtlantic shareholders will feel when they hear this story.
Check out the before and after pictures in the “photos” section…it still seems like a matter of time before it becomes a problem again. The laundry room light and fan switches have never worked reliably. We reported this during walkthrough and initially, the problem presented itself.
Don’t do it
CalAtlantic has an overall rating of 2.9 out of 5, based on over 33 reviews left anonymously by employees. 50% of employees would recommend working at CalAtlantic to a friend and 44% have a positive outlook for the business. Worse, many more issues have come up since the walk through, some quite serious. None of us were made aware by CalAtlantic that the locations where they directed us to park were no longer legal parking spaces. Their staff walked past and in many cases to our properties, interacted with us on a regular basis – any of them could have mentioned it to us.
Cool people if you stasy out the girl drama. The other reasons to work here outweigh the lower pay plan. This employer has not claimed their Employer Profile and is missing out on connecting with our community. If you are looking for remodeling ideas, you can browse hundreds of beautiful photos of work performed by our general contractors. If you hire a contractor through BuildZoom, that contractor is accountable to us.
calatlantics and subcontractors
Without these simple controls in place, it is hard to understand how your customer service organization is doing. On Monday, CalAtlantic came out to inspect the situation. Their first reaction was to blame the satellite dish – “it probably wasn’t sealed properly” they said. Not sure how they thought water could travel up to the 2nd floor master window when the satellite dish was well beneath it but once I pointed that out they moved past blaming the dish.
One controls the first two floors, the other controls the third floor. We have had multiple problems that demonstrate CalAtlantic’s poor customer service and poor quality control. One reason why most good customer service organizations track things is to make sure things don’t slip through the cracks. Sometimes that means identifying staff that may need more training to be effective. Sometimes that may just mean touching bases with the customer every so often to let them know an issue is still on someone’s plate.
Not to mention I'm expecting guests at my house in two weeks and do not want these imperfections to be detectible. I will follow-up this email with a phone call. Thanks in advance for your assistance. We are purchasing a new home from calatlantic. However, many things were not disclosed. We purchased a spec home and were given paperwork on many of the selected plans and options, but not all.

After several months moved in, I started to see there are title cracks everywhere, bathroom, laundry, kitchen. The most cracks happened are at the kitchen area. I had them come to fix the tiles, took picture of the foundation when they remove the titles. There are little line cracks on the foundation. It truly seemed like the house would have been great if CalAtlantic could have compromised, but the rep said that "corporate" refused.

We were the only house on our street that this happened to. Calatlantic made up how and where the water came in from and told us they wouldn't help. The stated the water came in through the door of window. Neither place has any water damage around it. Florida hones are supposed to withstand 140 mph winds but that doesn't include water coming in.
CalAtlantic is weighing the cost to add pneumatic door hinges versus my family’s safety. No extended-family dinners at the holidays. You can’t do any of those things in Heirloom. CalAtlantic executives refuse to admit any culpability for any of the parking problems they created even though it seems black and white as I’ll demonstrate below.
They eventually sent someone to repair it and the switches seemed to work for a a few days, before failing again. They occasionally work from time to time, which is petrifying to me. I’m not really familiar with “occasionally working” electrical devices and I’m worried something is shorting out and potentially a fire/health risk. Also, since they believed it was the juliet balcony, I asked if the same defect may be affecting the other two juliet balconies. “No, no, we would be seeing staining on the stucco if that were the case…” Really, because you didn’t see staining on the stucco you’ve since removed from the location you know leaked. How about you don’t just make the assumption that the other locations were done properly and you instead check to make sure.
We had issues with our air conditioning unit right from the start, and after multiple attempts to get them to make... Floor is carpeted, so can not tell if water is originating from a busted pipe in wall , or from underneath floor. Nothing was spilled on floor; concerned about mold setting in. Flexibility, salaried income, family environment, location, food, monthly bonus structure and a laptop (if you're lucky)!
